Partner and manager of Intellectual Property of the Firm. Throughout his career, he has worked in different areas of Law, specializing in Intellectual Property, Administrative Law and Corporate Law.
With over 15 years of dedicated work in Intellectual Property, Elsy has established herself as an expert in the field. Her experience enables her to provide clients with dynamic and innovative regional strategies for effectively managing Intellectual Property assets.
Currently, her practice includes the issuance of legal opinions and strategies for searches, new filings, maintenance, management and defense of Intellectual Property assets. She is also an advisor on corporate transactions such as assignments, mergers and other corporate procedures that affect brands, trade names. and other intellectual property rights. The client portfolio includes internationally renowned companies.
Her professional career, prior to joining the Firm, includes judicial experience and in the practice of Intellectual Property and Health Registries in other legal firms with regional scope, which allowed her to acquire experience in the application of standards, criteria and legal procedures that benefit different regional blocs.
Due to her experience in handling regional cases, she spearheaded the restructuring and international expansion of the firm's Intellectual Property department. This resulted in increased and successfully managed regional portfolios, for which she is currently responsible for procedures impacting Intellectual Property portfolios across various countries worldwide.
She also advises companies with growth or expansion plans through franchises, joint ventures and other legal figures. She is currently legal advisor to the COEXPORT Franchise Committee and has received training in franchise consulting.
Elsy has experience in teaching, especially in the field of Civil Law, Commercial Law and Intellectual Property, as well as experience in training merchants and entrepreneurs in aspects of regularization of commercial activities, protection strategies and observance of Intellectual Property rights. among which are mentioned: Presentation within the «2nd. SME Forum "Advancing in the Digital World" of Tigo Business with the theme "Register your brand and protect the Intellectual Property of your business", participation as an advisor in the Women's Business Consultancy carried out by the National Commission for Micro and Small Businesses (CONAMYPE ) through its National Women's Entrepreneurship Program, among others.
She participated in the RP&A HER Program that focused on specialized legal assistance for women entrepreneurs; Subsequently, with the need to expand the scope of beneficiaries of that first program, Elsy was part of the formation of the Innovation Project® focused on entrepreneurs and small business owners and currently leads this program that has a great sense of social responsibility. Elsy also collaborates with different foundations and associations that work to improve the conditions of our country, especially those that help improve the quality of life of children and women in El Salvador.
Elsy is certified as a Change Management Practitioner by ISEADE – FEPADE / Change Americas, Colombia.
She is a member of the Salvadoran Association of Intellectual Property (ASPI), of the Inter-American Association of Intellectual Property (ASIPI), she is also part of the Trademark Office Practice Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA), as well as a member of legal and committees. of Intellectual Property in different chambers in El Salvador such as: British Salvadoran Chamber of Commerce (BritCham) and the legal committee of AmCham El Salvador.
In addition to her degree in Legal Sciences from the Dr. José Matías Delgado University and her notary, Elsy has postgraduate degrees in International Business from the Higher Institute of Economics and Business Administration (ISEADE-FEPADE) and in Business Law from the Higher Institute of Economics and Business Administration (ISEADE-FEPADE) in alliance with ESEADE, Argentina. In addition to a regional master's degree in Central American Integration and Development from the Central American University-Nicaragua/Rafael Landívar University-Guatemala/José Simeón Cañas Central American University-El Salvador, he has received training on Alternative Means of Conflict Resolution, Mediation, and Conciliation. and Arbitration, among other courses and diplomas.
