Extension of PHASE 1 of the economic reopening.

Through Decree 31 of the Executive Body in the field of Health, of June 14, 2020, health Protocols were established to guarantee the rights to health and life of people, in the process of gradual reactivation of the economy, during the pandemic. by COVID-19, applicable in the western, central and eastern zones of the Republic of El Salvador.

Determining phases like this:

Each of the phases includes different economic activities (and some of a social nature) that would begin to operate gradually, thus reactivating the country's economy towards a new normality.

However, in this same Decree, article 7 established the factors that determine the gradual economic reopening; one of them being the consideration of guidance criteria to reasonably support the need to make some modification to the phases, thus, the evaluation of the epidemiological situation, and in the event of aggravation of said situation, the MINSAL could reform the terms for the resumption of the activities regulated by the Decree in question, such modifications must be modulated under the principles of the primacy of health and life, as well as the guarantee of economic freedom.

Thus, through a statement on letterhead from the Presidency of the Republic (without a responsible signature), dated July 5 of this year, the government announces that given the worsening of health indicators in recent weeks, Phase 1 of economic reopening will last for fifteen days. Modifying accordingly, the phases of gradual reopening, announced in Executive Decree No. 31.
