Romero Pineda & Asociados, pioneer in Intellectual Property in El Salvador, presented the award
Within the framework of World Intellectual Property Day, on April 26, as a Firm specialized in the protection, defense and monetization of Intellectual Property, Romero Pineda & Asociados decided to publicly recognize prominent Salvadorans, who represent a social contribution or cultural, of important significance, whose works generate an intellectual creation, deserving of such recognition, for its originality and creativity.
Among our Salvadoran clients in matters of Intellectual Property, 7 nominees were chosen who met the aforementioned characteristics and whose stories were made known on their social networks during the month of April.
The nominees were:
- “Emmalicia” brand created by designer and illustrator Emma Schönenberg, pioneer in surface design in El Salvador.
- Azoro Cultural Association (ACA), for his contribution to culture and theater with his magnificent works.
- Maurita, a restaurant chain created by Maura López whose expansion and presence has been notable in the last year.
- Don Li, an Asian food restaurant with a high position in the market, today expanding regionally.
- The leather accessories brand, Eva Innocenti, which bears the name of its creator, having a prominent presence in different international fashion shows.
- Visanto's, brand and franchise of pizza restaurants created by Ericka Arévalo, and which has managed to implement a successful franchise scheme in the Salvadoran territory.
- Chef Rick Zachrisson brand created by Rick Zachrisson, chef and creator of a frozen food line, his specialty being wings.
Yesterday, April 26, Intellectual Property Day, the winner of the award was unveiled, a glass coin, which symbolizes the contribution to the cultural treasure of El Salvador, as a manifestation of national creativity, protected by the Intellectual Property Law; and a certificate for legal or marketing advice for your brand with one of our experts. The winner was “Emmalicia”, a brand created by Salvadoran Emma Schönenberg.
Likewise, three special nominations were presented which the Firm considers of utmost importance in the contribution to the Intellectual Property of the country:
- Case of success: Lula Mena, with his experience and brand of the same name, recognized internationally both by the creators' union and by various Intellectual Property authorities;
- Youth Award: Andrea Ayala is an enthusiastic young woman who, with her designs in accessories and clothing, has walked catwalks in the world of fashion and is considered a national talent. This nomination is awarded in honor of the theme that WIPO chose as the framework for the celebration of Intellectual Property Day, highlighting the role of young people in creativity and innovation.
- And to end the month, a special mention as a posthumous tribute to Guillermo Korn, for his contribution to reading and culture in El Salvador and the region with his EDESAL Educational Book Printing Press.
