The Global Anti-Counterfeiting and Piracy Group, CACG, has celebrated this day since 1998 to raise awareness and take measures to address the global trade in counterfeit products and the dangers posed by identity theft.

Purchasing counterfeit products affects the reputation of already registered brands and can even affect the health of consumers, as in the case of counterfeit pharmaceutical products.
